1 Corinthians 4
- The message of the gospel of God’s love is powerful in itself. There is no need to sugar-coat it, or use cunning or underhanded tactics. It will be veiled to some, but it will be very clear to others. Our task is to live according to the grace we have received, while striving to become a ‘workman approved’ who correctly handles the word of truth.
- “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7 ESV)
- Motivation for sharing the gospel: “For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:15 ESV)
