Thoughts on 2 Timothy 1: 1-7
“As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.”
2 Timothy 1:4 ESV
I don’t think I’ve ever served God to the point of tears.. That says a lot on how much — or how little — I have surrendered of my life to God.
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,”
2 Timothy 1:6 ESV
The flame can die down, it weakens, if not constantly fanned.
“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
Power. Love. Self-control. It is there, in you. Remind yourself, remind others: fan into flame the gift of God.
